For conferences, workshops and open days
Collect testimonials at your event before people head home
Attendees are never more enthusiastic than in the last hour of a good event, and never less reachable than a week later. Print your StoryProof QR code, set up a spot for it, and work through the checklist below.
- Before, during and after the event
- Where to place the code and who stands by it
- How to follow up with people who scanned but did not finish
The problem, solved
Where event praise slips away, and how to catch it on the day
Situation 1 of 4
It happens in conversation
The best feedback is said out loud by the coffee table, and gone the moment the person walks away.
How StoryProof solves it
Your collection link prints as a QR code for the table card or closing slide, so the person who just said it can scan and say it again on their own phone.
Situation 2 of 4
The survey arrives too late
A week later, attendees are back at work and the email asking how it went competes with everything else.
How StoryProof solves it
Most answers come in from the printed code while people are still in the room. The email request then only has to reach the few who ran out of time.
Situation 3 of 4
Venues are loud
A video recorded beside the main stage is hard to hear. Where people record matters as much as asking them.
How StoryProof solves it
The same scan offers an audio note or a written answer, and a clip drowned out by the stage simply stays in your queue unapproved.
Situation 4 of 4
Phones are flat by the last session
After a day of photos and messages, many phones are low on battery, and recording a video is the first thing people skip.
How StoryProof solves it
Typing two sentences in the browser is an option on the same form, so a phone on its last few percent can still leave a testimonial.
Checklist
Your event testimonial checklist
Work through it as you plan. Copy the list into your run sheet so whoever staffs the event can see it too.
The checklist runs in your browser and is not saved or sent.
In StoryProof
Set it up in StoryProof
- 1
Create an event form and print its QR code
Your form’s link can be shared as a QR code. Put it on a stand, a table card or the closing slide.
- 2
Let attendees answer on their own phones
They scan, then record a video, leave an audio note or write a few lines in the browser. Nothing to install.
- 3
Email the stragglers afterwards
Send one email request to attendees who did not get round to it. StoryProof sends requests by email.
- 4
Approve, tag and publish
Nothing goes public until you approve it. Tag by event so next year’s promotion can show this year’s attendees, then add the best to your Wall of Love.
What happens next: Use the event tag to build next year’s registration page proof in minutes.
How it can look on the day
Illustrative scenario, not a StoryProof customer
A one-day workshop for 60 people puts a table card with the QR code next to the afternoon coffee, in a side room away from the main hall.
The host mentions it in the closing five minutes and leaves the code on screen while people pack up. A few attendees record short videos; more choose to write two sentences on their phone in the queue for coats.
Two days later, the organizer approves the answers, tags them with the workshop name, and emails the rest of the room once.
Before you start
Practical limits
Venue signal
If the venue has weak mobile signal, video uploads may struggle. Point people to the venue wifi or suggest a written answer.
Consent in public spaces
People in the background of a video did not agree to appear. Record against a wall or a plain backdrop.
Follow-up is email only
StoryProof sends the post-event request by email, so collect attendee emails through your registration tool.
Printed codes outlive the event
A table card left in a box can be scanned months later. Use a form made for this event so a late answer is easy to spot and tag correctly.
FAQ
Questions people ask
Short answers to what usually comes up next.
Do attendees need an app to scan the QR code?
No. Most phone cameras open the link directly, and the form runs in the browser.
When is the best moment to ask at an event?
Near the end, after the session that delivers the most value. Early in the day people have not formed an opinion yet.
Can I reuse one QR code across several events?
You can, but a separate form per event keeps answers easy to sort. If you do reuse one, tag each answer with the event it came from as you approve it.
Should speakers and sponsors use the same code?
They can, but their praise reads differently from an attendee’s. Tag them separately so a sponsor’s quote is never presented as an attendee review.
What should the sign beside the code say?
One line on what you are asking for and roughly how long it takes. A code on its own gives people no reason to stop and scan it.

Print your code before the next event
Create an event form, test the QR code, and walk in ready to collect.
