For partnership and channel teams
Partner and Reseller Testimonial Templates
A partner vouches for you differently from a customer. They have seen your product across many of their own clients, they know what your team is like to work with behind the scenes, and they have their own reputation riding on you. Write a request below that asks them about exactly that.
- Requests for resellers, integrations and agencies
- Questions only a partner can answer
- A note for the partner’s own sign-off
The problem, solved
Why partner proof is harder than it looks
Situation 1 of 5
Partners only talk about the margin
A quote about commission persuades other partners a little and buyers not at all. What they have seen in their clients is far more useful.
How StoryProof solves it
From Pro, a multi-step form asks several questions in one sitting, so you can steer a partner toward client outcomes and the working relationship.
Situation 2 of 5
Partner quotes get mixed in with customers
A reseller praising your channel programme reads oddly in the middle of a product page carousel.
How StoryProof solves it
Tag each one as a partner testimonial, by partner type, and choose which widgets show them, such as the one on your partner programme page.
Situation 3 of 5
Their marketing team has to approve
A partner’s name next to yours is a co-marketing decision on their side, and it often needs a sign-off you do not control.
How StoryProof solves it
Nothing goes public until you approve it, so the submission can wait in your queue while the partner’s team signs off on the wording.
Situation 4 of 5
Partners want something to share too
A partner who gives you a testimonial is also announcing the relationship. They want an asset for their own channels.
How StoryProof solves it
From Pro, the social image designer turns an approved testimonial into a branded image for LinkedIn, Instagram or X.
Situation 5 of 5
Partner managers are always travelling
Your contact at the partner is juggling a dozen vendors. Your request is one email among many.
How StoryProof solves it
From Pro, StoryProof sends a reminder after three days and a last one four days later, and stops once they respond.
Templates
Write a partner testimonial request
Choose the kind of partner. Each version asks what that partner is in a position to know.
- Reseller request
Subject: What has reselling [our scheduling platform] been like?
Hi [Marta], Companies thinking about reselling [our scheduling platform] keep asking to hear from someone who already does. Would [Bridgeway IT] share a few honest lines? 1. Why did you add [our scheduling platform] to what you offer? 2. How do your clients take to it once it is in place? 3. What is our team like to work with when a deal or a client needs help? Write, record audio or a short video here: [your StoryProof link] Thanks, [Owen]
- Note for the partner’s sign-off
Send to your contact if their marketing or legal team must approve.
Hi [Marta], nothing goes live until you are happy. Once your team has approved the wording and how [Bridgeway IT] is named, let me know and I will publish it. If anything needs to change, just tell me. [Owen]
The templates are filled in on this page only. Nothing is sent.

- 2
Send the request
Send it by email from StoryProof, or from your own inbox with the template above.
- 3
Wait for their sign-off before approving
Keep each answer in the queue until the partner confirms wording and naming.
- 4
Tag and place on your partner page
Tag by partner type and add them to the widget on your partner programme page, away from customer stories.
- 5
Give the partner an image to share
Turn the approved quote into a social image the partner can post too.
What happens next: Review partner testimonials whenever a partnership changes tier or ends. A quote from a former partner should come down.
Before you start
Keep it straight
Disclose the relationship
A partner earns from recommending you. Label their testimonials as coming from a partner so nobody mistakes them for a neutral customer.
Do not swap testimonials
Agreeing to praise each other in exchange makes both quotes less believable. Ask only partners who mean it.
Logos need permission
A partner’s logo on your page needs the same sign-off as their words. Do not assume one implies the other.
Partnerships end
Track where each partner quote appears so you can take it down quickly if the relationship changes.
FAQ
Questions people ask
Short answers to what usually comes up next.
Where should partner testimonials go?
On your partner programme page first, where future partners read. A strong one about client outcomes can also sit on an enterprise page, labelled as a partner.
Is a partner testimonial biased?
It comes from someone with a stake, which is why it must be labelled. It is still useful, because partners have seen your product across many clients.
Who at the partner should give it?
The person who works with your team day to day, with their leadership’s approval. A partner CEO’s quote is nice, but it rarely says anything specific.
Can I ask a partner’s clients for testimonials instead?
Only with the partner’s blessing. Those are their relationships, and going around them can damage the partnership.
