Email marketing
Quote your customers in the emails you already send
Email clients do not run scripts, so a website widget will never appear in an inbox. A well-formatted quote, an image of it, or a link to your Wall of Love will. Fill in one testimonial and get paste-ready blocks for three kinds of email.
- Blocks for newsletters, welcome emails and win-backs
- Attribution written the way the customer agreed
- Plain text that survives every email client

Build a testimonial block for your next email
Paste in one approved testimonial and its attribution, choose the email type, and copy the blocks.
- Customer spotlight block
Place it after your main story, not at the top.
FROM A CUSTOMER “[the customer’s words]” [customer name], [role, company] More stories like this: [Wall of Love link]
- One-line quote for the footer
“[the customer’s words]” [customer name] Read what others say: [Wall of Love link]
Filled in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.
The problem, solved
Why testimonials go missing from your emails, and the fix
- Problem 1
Our website carousel will not paste into an email
The social proof you built for the site is script-driven, and an inbox strips scripts out, so the newsletter goes out with none of it.
How StoryProof solves it
Your Wall of Love is a hosted page with its own link, included on every plan, so any email can point readers to the full set of approved reviews.
- Problem 2
Our designed newsletter needs a visual, not a quote
A block of grey text looks out of place between branded banners, so the quote gets cut at the layout stage.
How StoryProof solves it
On the plans that include it, the social image designer turns an approved testimonial into a branded image sized for an email.
- Problem 3
Finding a fitting quote delays every send
A win-back email needs a different story from a welcome email, and scrolling the whole library on deadline means the same favourite gets reused.
How StoryProof solves it
Tag testimonials by the email they suit and filter by tag when you write, on every plan including Free.
- Problem 4
Nobody checked that quote before it reached the list
An email cannot be pulled back once it lands, so an unvetted or off-message testimonial stays in thousands of inboxes.
How StoryProof solves it
Nothing a customer submits or you import goes public until you approve it, so the library you quote from holds only reviewed testimonials.
Three ways to put a testimonial in an email
In StoryProof
Pull the right testimonial from StoryProof
Step 1 of 3
Tag testimonials for email use
Tags such as “welcome”, “first week” or “win-back” let you pick a fitting quote each time without rereading the whole library.
Step 2 of 3
Turn a favourite into an image if your layout needs one
From Pro, the social image designer turns an approved testimonial into a branded image for Instagram, LinkedIn or X, or for an email.
Step 3 of 3
Link to your Wall of Love
Every plan includes a hosted page of approved testimonials with its own link. Use it as the “read more” destination in every block.
Before you start
Limits
No widgets in email
Email clients do not run scripts, so carousels and video players will not work in an inbox. Link to them instead.
Permission should cover email
A customer who agreed to appear on your website may not expect to appear in a newsletter. If your request did not mention email, ask.
Image designer is plan-dependent
The designer is on higher plans. Plain text blocks and the Wall of Love link work on every plan.
Test the block before the send
Quotation marks and line breaks can render differently between email clients. Send a test to a couple of inboxes you use and read the block on a phone as well.
FAQ
Questions people ask
Short answers to what usually comes up next.
Can I embed a video testimonial in an email?
Not as a playable video in most email clients. Use a still image with a play symbol that links to the video on your Wall of Love.
Where in an email should a testimonial go?
After the main message and before the call to action. It supports the ask; it should not replace it.
Can I shorten a long testimonial for an email?
You can cut it to a sentence the customer actually wrote, as long as the shorter version keeps their meaning. Do not merge separate sentences into a new one, and link to the full version on your Wall of Love.
Should the testimonial go in the subject line?
Rarely as a full quote, because subject lines get cut off on phones. A short reference to the customer’s story, as in the welcome subject options above, usually reads better.
