For franchisors and franchise owners
Franchise Testimonials for Every Location
A franchise has one brand and many front doors. Customers trust the location they visit, the franchisor owns the name on the sign, and the franchisee knows the customers. Answer four questions about how your network runs and get a setup that says who collects, who approves and where each testimonial ends up.
- Central, local or shared ownership
- Location pages show their own customers
- Franchisee stories kept apart from customer ones
The problem, solved
Where franchise testimonials break down, and how StoryProof keeps them in order
The problems come from the structure: one brand, many owners, and two very different audiences for proof.
Situation 1 of 5
Our Leeds page shows a Bristol customer
A prospect choosing a local branch wants to hear from people who used that branch. A national quote proves the brand, not the location.
How StoryProof solves it
Tag each testimonial by location and choose which ones each location page widget shows.
Situation 2 of 5
Franchisees publish quotes off brand
One owner posts a quote promising something the brand does not offer, and it appears under the franchisor’s name.
How StoryProof solves it
Nothing goes public until it is approved, so the person your agreement makes responsible for brand use reviews every quote first.
Situation 3 of 5
Head office cannot reach local customers
The franchisee has the customer’s name and the relationship; the franchisor sees neither.
How StoryProof solves it
Give location managers their own collection link to share or print as a QR code at the counter, so requests come from the location the customer knows.
Situation 4 of 5
Owner stories mixed with customer quotes
A franchisee saying the training was excellent is useful to a prospective franchisee and confusing to a customer booking a service.
How StoryProof solves it
Tag franchisee stories separately and show them only on your franchise opportunity pages; customer widgets never pick them up.
Situation 5 of 5
Locations serve customers in different languages
An international network, or one in a bilingual region, gets fewer answers from a form in the wrong language.
How StoryProof solves it
Collection forms are available in several languages on every plan, so each location can use the one its customers speak.
Network setup helper
Who should run testimonials in your network?
Answer for how your network actually works today, not how the operations manual says it should. The helper suggests a setup and shows the runner up.
The helper adds up your answers in your browser. Nothing is sent or stored.
Who usually owns what
A starting point for the conversation with your franchisees. Your franchise agreement wins wherever it says something different.
In StoryProof
Set it up across the network
This is the shared setup, where locations collect and head office approves. Adjust if the helper suggested something else.
- You will need
- A list of locations and who manages each
- Your brand guide, or a first draft of testimonial rules
- 1
Create one form for the brand
Customers can write, record a video or leave an audio note from the same link. Pick the form language each location needs.
- 2
Give every location its own way in
Share the link from the location’s emails, or print it as a QR code for the counter or the invoice.
- 3
Approve centrally, tag by location
The brand team reads every testimonial before it is public and tags it with the location, the service and, for owner stories, franchisee.
- 4
Point each location page at its own testimonials
Choose the testimonials for each location’s widget, and a separate widget of owner stories for the franchise opportunity page.
- 5
Check seats and spaces before inviting everyone
The number of brand spaces and seats per space depends on the plan, so count the people who need access before you invite them.
What happens next: Review location tags each quarter. Locations open, close and change hands, and a testimonial tagged to a closed branch should come off its page.
Before you start
What stays with you and your franchise agreement
What this does not cover, and what to check on your side. Better to know now than after launch.
- 01
StoryProof does not know your agreement
Who may publish what under the brand name is set by your franchise agreement. Read it before deciding who approves.
- 02
Earnings claims need your lawyer
An owner story that mentions income or profit can be treated very differently from one about training. Keep figures out unless counsel has approved them.
- 03
Access is counted per plan
Spaces and seats are limited by plan. A large network may need to decide who really needs to log in.
- 04
Changes of ownership are manual
When a location is sold, its testimonials stay where they are. Decide whether the new owner keeps them, and retag or remove them yourself.
FAQ
Questions people ask
Short answers to what usually comes up next.
Should each location have its own testimonials page?
If each location has its own page already, yes: show that location’s customers there. A single network wide page works as an overview, not as a substitute.
Can a franchisee use testimonials from other locations?
Only if your rules allow it and the page makes clear where the customer was served. A quote from another town presented as local misleads the reader.
Who owns a testimonial if the franchisee leaves the network?
That depends on your franchise agreement and on what the customer agreed to. Settle it in writing before it happens.
Are franchisee testimonials the same as customer testimonials?
No. They speak to a different reader, a prospective franchise buyer, and should be collected, tagged and shown separately.
What if one location gets far more testimonials than the others?
That usually reflects who is asking, not who is better. Share what the busy location does at the counter with the others.
