Homepage proof
Choose where testimonials go on your homepage, and in what shape
A homepage has three or four natural spots for customer proof, and each suits a different layout. Tell the picker how much proof you have and how your buyers decide, and it recommends a position and a layout you can preview live.
“We put the review wall under our pricing table and prospects quote the reviews back to us on calls.”
“StoryProof made collecting and showing real customer video reviews effortless for us.”
“The widget looks native on our site. Nobody can tell it is embedded.”
“Collecting video reviews used to be the hardest part. Now it takes one link.”
“Set up in ten minutes, and support answered the one question I had straight away.”

“Real faces and real voices sell far better than anything we could write ourselves.”
“Shoppers send 30-second clips from their phones, and nothing goes live until I approve it.”
“Setup took minutes and the reviews started coming in the same week.”
“Our customers actually record. That never happened with our old review form.”

The problem, solved
Why homepage proof ends up in the wrong place, and the fix
Every testimonial is crammed into one footer block
A visitor deciding in the first screen never scrolls far enough to meet the proof, and the detailed story sits next to quotes that say much less.
With StoryProof: Build a small widget for each zone, such as a strip under the hero and a single story after a feature, and choose what goes in each.
Not enough quotes to fill a homepage
Three old emails pasted into a grid look thinner than no section at all.
With StoryProof: A single StoryProof link lets customers reply with a video, an audio note or written lines, which is how a thin homepage section gets enough material.
The homepage quotes never get refreshed
Hard-coded quotes stay up for years, still mentioning a feature you renamed or a price you changed.
With StoryProof: An embedded widget loads its testimonials from StoryProof each visit, so a newly approved one shows on the homepage without republishing it.
Any homepage change waits for a developer
When proof is built into the page template, swapping a quote becomes a ticket in someone else’s queue.
With StoryProof: The section is two lines of HTML pasted once. From then on, which testimonials it shows is changed in StoryProof, not in the template.

Find your homepage spot and layout
Four questions. The recommendation updates as you answer, and a close second appears when two options are nearly tied.
Your answers are scored in your browser against fixed rules. Nothing is sent or stored.
The four homepage zones
Most homepages, whatever they sell, have the same places where a visitor pauses long enough to read proof.
In StoryProof
Put it on your homepage with StoryProof
Step 1 of 4
Fill the gap if you have too few testimonials
Send customers one collection link. They can answer with a video, an audio note or a few written lines in the browser.
Step 2 of 4
Approve the stories that suit the zone
Short and punchy for under the hero, detailed for between features. Nothing appears on your site until you approve it.
Step 3 of 4
Build a widget in the recommended layout
Pick the layout and add only the testimonials you chose for this zone. 19 widget layouts, from walls and carousels to compact badges and avatar strips.
Step 4 of 4
Paste the embed code into the homepage section
Two lines of HTML go where the section should sit. Check the page on a phone before you call it done.

Things to watch
What this does not cover, and what to check on your side. Better to know now than after launch.
- 01
Widget allowance
Widgets per workspace: Free 1, Starter 5, Pro unlimited. A small "Powered by StoryProof" badge shows until Pro.
- 02
Do not bury the main button
A tall widget directly under the hero pushes your call to action below the first screen on a phone. Keep hero-zone proof to a single line.
- 03
Moving parts and attention
One animated strip is enough on a page. Two moving widgets compete with each other and with your headline.
- 04
Theme placeholders left behind
Many homepage themes ship with sample testimonials from made-up people. Delete them when the widget goes in, so no stock quote sits beside a real one.
FAQ
Questions people ask
Short answers to what usually comes up next.
Should testimonials go above the fold on a homepage?
A compact form of proof can, such as a strip of short quotes or a row of faces. A full wall of reviews belongs further down, where a visitor has already decided to read.
How many testimonials should a homepage show?
Enough to cover your main customer types, usually a handful in each zone you use. A dedicated page or a Wall of Love can carry the rest.
Can I use the same testimonials on the homepage and other pages?
Yes, but pick the ones that answer each page’s question. The homepage story about getting started rarely suits the pricing page.
Should a homepage quote show the customer’s name and photo?
Where the customer agrees, yes. A name, role and face make a short quote far easier to believe, and asking for them when you collect saves chasing later.
How often should the homepage testimonials change?
Look at them every few months and swap any quote that mentions an old feature, price or team member. Details that no longer match the page undermine the proof.
