Embed customer testimonials on your Squarespace site with a Code Block
A Code Block on a Core, Plus or Advanced plan runs the StoryProof script like any other page content. Paste, save, then look at the page logged out, because Squarespace sometimes hides embedded code from the person editing.
“We put the review wall under our pricing table and prospects quote the reviews back to us on calls.”
“StoryProof made collecting and showing real customer video reviews effortless for us.”
“The widget looks native on our site. Nobody can tell it is embedded.”
“Collecting video reviews used to be the hardest part. Now it takes one link.”
“Set up in ten minutes, and support answered the one question I had straight away.”
“Real faces and real voices sell far better than anything we could write ourselves.”
“Shoppers send 30-second clips from their phones, and nothing goes live until I approve it.”
“Setup took minutes and the reviews started coming in the same week.”
“Our customers actually record. That never happened with our old review form.”

The problem, solved
Why Squarespace testimonials go stale, and how StoryProof keeps them current
- Problem 1
Every new quote means reopening the editor
Squarespace’s testimonial sections are typed by hand, so a lovely review that arrives on Tuesday waits until someone finds time to edit the page.
How StoryProof solves it
An embedded StoryProof widget loads its testimonials each time the page opens, so approving a new one updates the site without touching Squarespace.
- Problem 2
I worry a script will break my design
Owners of design-led sites have spent weeks on a layout and do not want a pasted snippet to wreck it.
How StoryProof solves it
The embed is two lines of HTML, a div carrying the widget id and one async script, so it sits inside a single Code Block and nowhere else.
- Problem 3
Plain quote blocks clash with my imagery
Portfolio sites lean on full-bleed photography, and a column of grey quotes can look like it belongs to another website.
How StoryProof solves it
StoryProof layouts run from walls and carousels to compact badges and avatar strips, so a homepage can carry something slim while a reviews page gets a full wall.
- Problem 4
Each page needs its own kind of client
A wedding photographer’s booking page should show couples, not the headshot client from last spring.
How StoryProof solves it
You pick which approved testimonials appear in each widget, so every Squarespace page shows the reviews that match its service.
In StoryProof
Install it on Squarespace
Step 1 of 4
Prepare the widget in StoryProof
Pick a layout and add the approved testimonials it should show, then copy the code.
Step 2 of 4
Add a Code Block
Edit the page, hover over the section, click Add block or the plus sign and choose Code. Click the pencil icon to open it.
Step 3 of 4
Paste and save
Paste the two lines, make sure Display Source is off, and save the page.
Step 4 of 4
Test it logged out
Open the page in a private window or another browser. That is the view your visitors get.

Squarespace-specific limits
Plan gate on scripts
JavaScript in Code Blocks needs the Core, Plus or Advanced plan. On lower plans the block saves but the widget never appears.
Hidden while logged in
Squarespace notes that embedded code can be invisible to a logged-in editor. Always judge the install from a logged-out view.
No Squarespace extension
StoryProof installs through a Code Block, not a Squarespace extension. If code is not an option, share your hosted Wall of Love link instead.
Branding badge
Free and Starter widgets show a small StoryProof badge, removable from Pro.
FAQ
Questions people ask
Short answers to what usually comes up next.
Which Squarespace plan do I need for a testimonial widget?
Core, Plus or Advanced. Those plans run JavaScript inside Code Blocks; the entry plan does not.
Why can I not see the widget after saving?
Squarespace sometimes hides embedded code from logged-in users. Open the page in a private window to see what visitors see.
Should I replace the built-in Squarespace testimonial section?
Keep it if you rarely change quotes. A widget suits sites that collect testimonials regularly, because you choose what shows from StoryProof instead of retyping quotes into Squarespace.
Can a hand-typed Squarespace quote and a widget sit on the same site?
Yes. Some sites keep one featured quote in a homepage section and use a widget on the reviews page. Avoid showing the same quote twice on one page, which looks like padding.
